FISHING IN CENTRAL PARK:
"NY, NY, The URBAN CAPITOL Of The World!"... The World Famous Central Park To Be Exact. NYC DPR's "Flagship" Park. HQ Home Of NYC DPR. Manhattan's Only Freshwater Lake, Freshwater Ponds, And Freshwater Fishing Spot.

The 843 Acre Park Is Host To Some 25 Million Visitors Each Year. It Has The Most "Water Bodies" Out Of All NYC DPR Parks.

It Is Said That Some "50,000 Fish" Reside In "The Harlem Meer" Alone. (Total Of Varied Species).

The Following Listed Bodies Of Water Can Be Found In The Park. NYC DPR, As Well As The Central Park Conservancy Prefer You Fish In "The HARLEM MEER' (A Dutch Word Meaning Lake). It Is Located At The Northern End Of The Park On 110th. Street Near Fifth Avenue. The DANA DISCOVERY CENTER Is Located There. During (Fishing) Season, Kids Can Take Lessons On Learning How To Fish. With Proper Id, You Can Obtain A Loaner Bamboo Rod To Fish The MEER With. But You Must Return It When You Are Done.

The Parks Bodies Of Water Are As Follows:
A.) The Lake. Near The West Drive At West 72nd.-79th. Street's Approximately.
B.) Turtle Pond. East Of The Lake, In The Area By The "Bethesdea Fountain" (used As A Location Backdrop In Many Films, Tv Shows, Tv Commercials). FISHING IS NOT PERMITTED HERE. "Fish The Meer!."
B.) The Harlem Meer. The Parks "Official Fishing Spot."
West 110th. Street Off Of 5th. Avenue.
C.) The Pond. The Central Park Pond Is Located At The SouthEast End Of The Park. It Is Approximately Just Off Of Central Park South/Fifth Avenue/59th. Street Area. It Is Surrounded By A Fence Making Fishing Is Impossible.
D.) Conservatory Water. East 75th. St. Off Of Fifth Avenue.
E.) The POOL. Just Off Of Central Park West, From West 100th.-106th. Street's.
F.) The Jacquline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. Located Between The East And West Drive's, Between West 86th.-96th. Street's. FISHING IS NOT PERMITTED THERE.  NYC Road Runners Members Jog Around This High Fenced Body Of Water.  In Reality, "FISH THE HARLEM MEER!."

WE'RE REFERRING TO  CENTRAL PARK's HARLEM MEER, ("MEER" Is Dutch For Lake). Visit The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, On-Site, Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Through Mid-October, Where Bamboo Poles And Corn Kernels Or Dough Bread Bait Are Provided To You To Use If You Bring Valid Id. TheBamboo Poles Must Be Returned When You Finish Fishing. Children Under 14 Must Be Accompanied By A Parent Or Guardian. A Maximum Of 90 Poles Will Be Distributed Each Day. Groups Larger Than 10 Must Call (212) 860-1370 For Reservations, At Least 2 Weeks In Advance To Reserve Poles. A Maximum Of 20 Poles Is Issued Per Group. This Popular Catch-And Release Freshwater Fishing Spot Is Located At The Northern Most Part Of The Park At West 110th. Street, Along Lenox To Fifth Avenue's. Species Of Fish That Reside In The "Harlem Meer" Include: Golden Shiners, LMB's, Pumpkinseed's, Bluegill's, Carp, And Chain Pickerel.
